Peek-a-boo

Oooo I love this Karen's Doodles image!  So cute!  And, I got to use it twice for two different cards!  One of them was for a friend who has just had a baby boy - they are not into the cutsie cutsie images so I thought this would work well.  The other is for another friend who I havent seen in ages!  Just seemed apt.   BUT I couldnt decide which looked better - the wonky image or the straight one!  Pop back on Friday and see what Josh has to say about wonky images!

Not been too well last couple of days so am gonna hop off now and resume my position on the sofa!

Bookmarks!

Just a quick make today.  We read LOTS of books in our house (I'm a "reader development manager - librarian in old money!)...so consequently, we lose a whole lot of bookmarks!  So, thought I would knock up a couple of real quick bookmarks for the Karen's Doodles Challenge.  Now, I have to say that these are not going to set the world alight, but who spends too long on bookmarks when they will probably be lost in a few days (did I mention we lose ALOT of them?).

These images always make me smile!

Karen's Doodles - Halloween Freebie!

I do like Karen's images - I have quite a few of them now!  Oh the joys of digi downloads and the temptation of that instant gratification!

And....the observant among you will have noticed that the card on the left is NOT a Karen's Doodles image!  Nope - its my trusty wishblade in operation again - I designed the image myself, linked it all up and (eventually) got it to cut out!  YAY!  Was very pleased with myself!

And if you open the card - here is what is inside!  YAY Karen's image!  Have doodled the cobwebs and spiders and added glossy accents to the pumpkin so it stands proud.

This shows the card standing up!  And you will notice it has another "layer" - so...you open up the trick and treat panel and find the Karen's Doodles panel...then you lift that panel and find the final panel!

Theoretically, I guess you could just carry on with this - use it for little brag book?  A way to show off some images perhaps---oh come on - you with imaginations will know of something to do with it!

So - you get a rectangle of card, fold it in half (into a mini card) and then add another rectangle of card (but this one sits at 90 degrees - so the fold is at the top) - hope that makes sense!  To continue on, you would just add the next "card" in with the fold at the side again (like the first layer - although, you could of course put the fold on the right side rather than the left side!)

Ha ha - have just re read those instructions!  Make no sense!  If you want me to, just leave me a comment and I will put up a quick photo tutorial to show what I mean!

Challenge Cards!

Both of these cards have images from designers that I really like!  So bearing this in mind, I wanted to make the image the focal point of the cards!

This is my first one with Lily of the Valley image on it.  I followed Dawns fabby sketch (which I found harder than I thought!!!) - hubby came in and found me a nice piece of green card from my stash!

Would also like to enter it into Crafty Sentiments Challenge this week - a birthday theme!!!  Have only just discovered the blog and there is a rather fabby digi freebie on there to check out!

And this is for a challenge over at Karen's Doodles.  I just love this image!  Makes me laugh everytime I see it!  And it colours up a dream!

The challenge was to include a tag!  I really hope I don't have occassion to use this particular card - well, not with that tag anyway!  Wow - just thought - you could make a few different cards, a few different tags and give them to someone as a kind of "pick and mix"!!!  That way they will always have the right sentiment to go with the right image!  OK - you read it here first...its my intellectual property!  LOLX

Well - time to go and do other things! Oooops pick up my child!!!

Aud Sentiments - LOVE

Love is most definitely in the air over at AudSentiments today!  This challenge is to use the word LOVE on your sentiment - either as part of your sentiment (I used Young Love) or just use the word LOVE itself!

 We are so lucky to be sponosred by Karen's Doodles for this challenge - and even luckier in that we got to choose an image (or 2!) to work with for our DT offerings!

Just couldn't refuse these two cuties.  How delightful are they?  And such a dream to colour!

Karen's Doodles Criss Cross Card

 

Aw Bless!  This is my first try at a Criss Cross Card - and it is just soooo easy.  Actually, no - it's horrendously complicated and I am AWFULLY CLEVER to be able to do it!  Nope?  Never was a very good liar! 

And this is the image inside!  Its from Karen's Doodles and is so cute I could pop!  I decided not to over-embellish the card but to make the image the focal point along with the card design itself.

Am entering this into Cupcake Craft Challenge which was to keep it simple
Not sure if I can get away with this one (LOL) but I am also entering it into Doodle Palace Layers Challenge! - well the card is kinda layered - sort of, maybe, almost!

Altered notebook

Totally Papercraft is a new challenge blog and their first challenge is to create anything with the theme of FRIENDS.
This was a really cheap notepad and I took it apart - tarted it up - and put it back together again!  The image is from Karens Doodles - really like these images and this was my first use of this image.  I made this for a very good friend and the sentiment is just perfect!   The image means that it also fits into Fab n Funky challenges which was to use a digi image.
The sketch was from Papertake Weekly - enjoyed it but am always a little torn - I want to put on more but am mindful of the sketch and also that the notebook needs to be relatively durable without bits and bobs to drop off!
What doesnt show up too well is the embossing on the dark purple paper.
And the love that this pair are showing for each other (and the love that I feel for my friend) makes it qualify for the paper popsicles challenge - which was....LOVE
