Aud Sentiments - Enjoy your day

Oooo last day at Primary School today for my son - going to be a long one mind as they have their leaver's disco after school tonight too.  I feel a bit mixed about it - no more school runs (well, not on a regular basis!) but the end of a stage in his life.

Oh - back to the challenge!  We were very lucky to be sponsored by Just Some Lines.

They are giving the winner $15 USD of digital stamps.    And we were also allowed to pick an image to work with - so I chose the bride!  I just loved her clean look.

The theme of the challenge is to use the sentiment "Enjoy Your Day" or any other sentiment to make someone smile.

I went for the straightforward with this one.  I thought the image was so clean and simple that I would overpower it if I went wild with embellishments (as if I EVER do that anyway! Lol)

So, thats me done for today - please take time to pop on over and see what the others have made - some gorgeous creations, let me tell you!  AND why not enter the challenge yourself?

Teacher's gifts!

Well, the end of primary education looms close!  End of term is Thursday, so I really needed to get these done this weekend.  I had an idea, you know one that sits and germinates, so I kinda knew what I wanted to do before I sat down.

There is a nice big bar of chocolate in the hangy doo-dah

Close up of the image - and a brief explanation

Anti-bacterial hand-wash.

The chocolate.....and of course, the wine!

It was very simple - a bit of fiddling around with the hangy thingy....but mainly just playing around in inkscape to make the labels etc.  I was a bit cheeky because I didnt hand colour anything - did it all in inkscape.  Yeah - cop out, I know - but I had 6 of these sets to make, so they would have taken me forever!

OOOOOOO forgot to say - the images are all from bugaboo!

Good News...No, GREAT NEWS!

PROUD MUMMY ALERT*PROUD MUMMY ALERT

We just got Josh's SAT results today.

If you have been a follower for a while, you may have seen the tale of Josh and his schooling - if not, lets just say it hasnt always been easy!  After being in a small private school that, despite asking, kept saying that Josh didnt have any learning needs at all and was just lacking in self-control (!!! - we are relatively strict with him, so I was very insulted by this!), we moved him half way through Yr 5.  One week in the new school and his new teacher suggested (very nervously!) that we might consider getting him tested for ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) - at the end of Yr 5 we had a postive diagnosis - yep he is ADD, he is also gifted and talented.

Well, we had his results and he is Level 5 for Maths, English and Science (they only do the 3) - Level 4 is achieving expectation for age and level 5 is exceeding expectation for age!

As you can imagine - there are some very jolly happy people in our house at the moment!  I am so proud of him - and whats more (and waaaaay more important) he is actually proud of himself!  Can you just feel the warm glow coming from this post?????

OK gonna go and ring people now!  Lol x

If anyone else has kids waiting for results (whatever exams they may be) - then I hope you are as happy with your results (whatever level they may be!)

Aud Sentiments - More than two words!

Aw - such a cute image - and the sentiment works so well - it says "May all your weeds be flowers".  The only thing is that I keep forgetting which way it went round and thought it said "May all your flowers be weeds!".  Oh dear!

The image was from Digital Delights  who are our sponsor for this challenge.   They have some of the cutest digis out there!

Quickie about the card - I used a stampin up punch for the "lace" and then cut the flowers out using my ecraft.  I then inked them up and also inked the paper candy things (the things that look like brads!) to match.  Still think its missing something!  Oh well - very tired so it will have to stay as it is!  (just realised that might not make sense as I will have this scheduled for the morning! - just believe me, when I wrote the post I was tired!).

If you get the chance, why not pop on over to Aud Sentiments to see the rest of the DT cards - then you could even have a go at the challenge!

Delicious Doodles - Flourish and Bling!

Whew - seems to have been a long time since I got a really lovely package in the post!  Teri - da boss - sent us a lovely card each (and you know how much you appreciate a beautiful hand-made card when you make them yourselves!) with two packs of goodies.

We were very generously sponsored by Flourish with a Bling for this challenge over at Delicious Doodles.  AND they let us have some flourishes and bling!

I received the most gorgeous green leaf flourish - its really stunning - and I thought  I was going to use that - absolutely convinced I was...but then I ended up using the black set of gems instead!  S'funny how that happens isnt it?

SO - you may have guessed this already - our challenge this week is to use a flourish and also lots of bling!
AND - this is what the winner will win!

So - without further ado...here is my lickle box....

No - it isnt floating!  Weird that though!  I used a nestability for the top and bottom - and a basic box.  Embossed the red bits (you cant see it in this pic but honest they are embossed - one of the dotty ones!).  Then I used Delicious Doodles' image of the watering can with flowers.

Oh look - you can see the dottiness in this pic - and also the shimmer on the flowers and bling.  What I really liked about this bling is that you can cut the flourish to get it to look how you want it to!  Originally, the flourish on top was far more complicated, but I just didnt have room to fit it all in - so I just chopped some bits on and then rearranged one of the chopped off bits!  In fact, if you look at the prize package, bottom left (grey ones) the actual flourish on the bottom left of that pack is the one that I used.

Gosh, this has ended up as a long post!  Suffice to say, go and have a nosey at the other dt work, and why not join in the fun yourself?

Thanks for checking me out!
