Altered notebook

Totally Papercraft is a new challenge blog and their first challenge is to create anything with the theme of FRIENDS.
This was a really cheap notepad and I took it apart - tarted it up - and put it back together again!  The image is from Karens Doodles - really like these images and this was my first use of this image.  I made this for a very good friend and the sentiment is just perfect!   The image means that it also fits into Fab n Funky challenges which was to use a digi image.
The sketch was from Papertake Weekly - enjoyed it but am always a little torn - I want to put on more but am mindful of the sketch and also that the notebook needs to be relatively durable without bits and bobs to drop off!
What doesnt show up too well is the embossing on the dark purple paper.
And the love that this pair are showing for each other (and the love that I feel for my friend) makes it qualify for the paper popsicles challenge - which was....LOVE

Ok thats me all done

thanks so much for looking - and dont forget to check out my image swap here

Greetings Farm and MAWT challenge 30!

Hmmm - I dont actually have a style as such - so not sure why I want to say that this is not my normal style!!!

The colours are not what I would usually use at all but fancied a change.

The sketch is from Moving Along with the Times - with an additional challenge to use a digi!  Loved that!

And, this is day 2 on the CHA Relay.  Got this lovely image after doing yesterday's card - so now looking forward to tomorrow's image!

Thanks for looking!

Image swap!

I joined up on paying it forward crafting style a little while ago.  The idea of the blog, run by Joanne, is that people make a random gift of goodies to another crafty peep - they then link back that they have done it!  How cool is that?

Well, then I got to thinking - I didnt have anyone's address so I couldnt send a little parcel of goodness to anyone - then I received a candy in the post and was so thrilled with the stamped images ..... see where I am going?  No?  Well read on....I thought that I would host an image swap!  YAY!  I get there eventually!  I can pay it forward but just in a different way!  Emailed Joanne - and she said, go for it .... so here we are!

So, here we go - you put at least 10 images into an envelope and then email me to get my address.  You pop them in the post to me with a stamped addressed envelope.  I then send them off to someone else and use your envelope to send 10 images to you!!!  How fab is that?

Just a few rule type bits!!!  Please make sure you send ample postage (I am not going off to pick up any from our sorting office that have too little postage on them which means that they will be destroyed and you wont get any images in return!).   Please make sure you stamp your images on decent card and that they are clear - dont send any you wouldnt use yourself!  There are only 20 spaces on the swap and all swaps need to be sent to me by 14th Feb - yep, my postman will be so impressed with my many admirers!!! Obviously, the sooner you send them, the sooner you will get some back!  I am in the UK - so please could we just have people from UK for this first swap....if this goes ok then the next one (what am I saying...."next one"???) can be international.

I think thats it - I will not be responsible for any images lost in the post etc etc.  Yay - then I can consider that I have paid it forward crafty style by hosting the swap!!!!

If you want to join in, just email me at gedalovitch at googlemail dot com - have amended email address to foil spammers (anyone know if this works??LOLX) - then I will send out my address to you.

Please would you also leave a comment below to let everyone know you are joining in!

Woo Hoo!

This is my card for the fabby Greeting Farm Relay!  Ok - here's how it works - you get a free image, then you have to make a card with it and post it up.  If you get it up in time you get your next image sent to your email - then you do it all over again!  For 5 days I think!   Here is the link to the blog - go check it out because I am sure they explain it a whole lot better than I just did!!!  Thanks for looking!  Rx

Appreciate a dragon day!!!

Sorry about the pictures - couldnt decide which was the best!
Love this Dustin Pike image - and the quote seemed very apt.
And to explain the title of this post - it was Appreciate a Dragon Day so KLStampin n Scrappin decided to celebrate in style!  Their challenge this week was to include a dragon or reptile.
Create4Fun had a sketch to follow - it looked so nice and easy - but sometimes those are the hardest!  Lolx
Thanks so much for looking

Second post today - Quixotic Challenge

Yep - truely unseasonable!  The challenge over at Quixotic was to ink up an old stamp!  These arent very old (got them October ish) but I never got round to using them...well I tried to use them but just couldnt for some reason - inked up, messed up, inked up, messed up!!!!  Still not that pleased with this - think it needs some snowflakes - may do that tomorrow but not tonight!
Background paper is Stampin Up, the images are Patchwork Pals from Kanban.
thanks for looking

Pollycraft challenge, Practical Scrappers and YNS challenge

OK - shhhhhhh  - have had to do this without hubby seeing!!!  The card was from Kanban.  I made the sequin thingies - two sequins and a gem.  Lovely freebie pollycraft image - and lots of sparkle for YNS!!!  The paper is embossed with hearts.

Close up of sequiny things - bit proud of these!!!  Lots of fafffing and glue hasnt dried yet!
And couldnt print out and finish the sentiment cos hubby is upstairs and thats where the printer is!!!  The flower at the top shows where the sentiment will end!!!  Oh - just have to add that the original Pollycraft image doesnt have a mouth - but hubby has already commented on how many images nowadays dont have noses or mouths - so I added one in!!!
So Challenges....YNS Sparkle - on flourishes, gems, sequins, heart etc
Pollycraft - Fire and Ice (Red and White)
Practical Scrappers - embossing

thanks for looking - have to hide it now, somewhere it can dry!!!

Third card - yep in one day! Cute Card Challenge card

Last one!  Loved doing this!  Its for Cute Card Thursday Challenge and this week we had to only use pink and grey!  Phew, didnt know if I would get there or not, but I did!  And....all the papers etc are offcuts and leftovers!  YAY!  The pretty background paper is Funky Fairy, the pink frame is from stash and I dry embossed it on a fiskar plate.  The funniest things are the flowers - wall paper!  ha ha!  B&Q we love you!      Thanks for taking the time to look.  Rx

Christmas and snowflakes!

This is a card that covers a few challenges this week.  Here we go....
ABC Christmas Challenge - B is for Bells, optional glitter - honestly, there is glitter on this...its on their hats, the branch and around the edge of the image - oh and also on the snowflakes!
Challenge up your life had the challenge snow and ice
Saturday Spotlight - snowflakes gone wild - well not exactly wild as such!!! But I did use double snowflakes for the embellies.
Susie and Vickie wanted to see Snow on their new challenge blog
Fussy and Fancy wanted Winter as their theme - hmmmm Christmas?
Phew - hope I did everything right!!!

And, my own personal challenge which I might need to explain here now....as far as is possible (!!!!!) I am going to use the whole piece of paper within 5 cards.  To elaborate....I HATE waste, really do!  So, not only am I trying to use up as much as I can, but I am also going to try to use the WHOLE of a sheet of paper within the next 5 cards that I make.  So, you can see that I used the brown paper on this card and my other card today...there is a little bit left, so I need to use that up within the next 5 cards I make!  Well, cant do it on my next one as the theme is pink and grey!

Lets just see shall we?  Did well on all the blue papers and cards on the previous couple of cards (although still have some little bits to use of those!)

Thanks so much for taking the time to check these out....I really hope I have my comment verification off - if I dont, please let me know!!!

Challenge card - Sassy Designs by Susie and Crazy 4 Challenges

Hmmm - bit of a loppy photo this.

I had such a problem doing this....and its still really plain.  Maybe not the most sensible combination of challenges!

So, this is Sassy Designs by Susie challenge - and that was to make a card for a boy with the option of a cute animal.  Oh my, isnt this ever the cutest - from Karens Doodles!  Love Karen's stuff!

And the Crazy 4 Challenges one was a sketch - actually, I was meant to put the little sign to the right a bit further but it just really didnt work for me!

And the papers were from a huge pad that I bought - 200 12x12 sheets for £6.99 - I love a bargain!  They are Papermania and I got them from what used to be Sussex books.  Just thought I would tip you off that they have a sale on these and other crafty bits.

Haiti

Just saw an appeal on another blog and thought I would pass it on....medicins san frontieres (doctors without borders) are desperately in need of funds to help with their work in Haiti - if you can spare anything at all, please go to http://www.msf.org/ and donate ..... if you donate to a specific cause they can only use it for that cause, but if you do an open donation (think they call it "greatest emergency" or somesuch then they can use it for anything appropriate.  This means that people who donated in this way over Christmas or the New Year are already helping the people of Haiti!

Just thought that people might see this and be persuaded into action - obviously, there are many other people to donate to that will benefit these people so, if you dont want to donate to MSF, this might trigger you to go and donate to your chosen place.

Ooooo and, if we all post something of the like on our blogs then lots of people may be triggered to donate - that way, even if you cant afford to make a donation, you can help!  This is when the power of blogging really comes into its own!

Challenge cards!

Ok - this is my first card....did you hear that???? FIRST card!!!  That means more than ONE!  LOL - my mojo is paying me a brief visit so I thought I would get two cards done!  This first one is for the lovely sketch at Allsorts Challenge Blog.  I just saw the sketch and knew I could do it!  Its not that often I think that!  The papers are Stampin Up and I made the flowers - I saw the tip of using a heart shaped punch on someone's blog - whoevers blog it was...thank you, it worked a treat!  Used liquid pearls in the middle.  And coloured the image with copics.

And this one, I made from little inch square pieces of card and it has helped me with my quilting desires (see post below!)....lots of fun and I surprised myself with my patience!  The flower was from Stampin Up and I inked it with the same colour as I inked the edge of the pic and light blue card.  Still not completely happy with the layout - might need a bit of balancing up...just not sure!  Obviously, this young lady is drinking a mug of cocoa (not drinking chocolate but proper cocoa!) so I am entering it into the hot chocolate challenge at Simon Says Challenge and also at quixoticpaperie
Thanks for taking the time to look!  Rx

QUILT!

Ok - thats it....about the only thing I have never tried is quilting....well actually, I did do some quilting at school (did needlework and design) - but that was a long time ago - and we only did quilting....not patchwork quilting!  Ahhhhhaaaaa - see I know there is a difference....

Now - I am not very good at being technical and accurate so thats always put me off - I just wondered whether anyone thought that it was possible for me to tackle this (bearing in mind my inate inabilities!)....and secondly whether they know of any good resources for getting me started.

thought I would post this here to kinda PUSH me into doing something about it!!!

Thanks for any help at all that you can offer

Phew - and I might need to apologise....

I have just spent an absolute age going through and deleting blogs that I follow - ok, here's the problem!....

I am spending waaaay too much time reading blogs and drooling over the beautiful creations out there in blogland - just love it...but I checked and I have 308 blogs that I follow.  And I really do follow them....I read them and drool over them (my keyboard gets in a real state! Yukkk) but I never have time to comment (or rarely) and am having even less time to craft.  SO - I just went through and removed 112 of them!

And here is the apology....if I have miffed anyone by unfollowing them then I am truely sorry - but I just really cant keep up with them, and I am sure that  bloggers prefer active followers than just the number of followers.  Of course, there is also a chance that I have also unfollowed someone whose candy is posted in my side bar....this was not me trying to cheat or anything, I genuinely did follow, but......see above!  LOLX

And - if I did stop following someone - it wasnt cos they were naff or anything - just not my style today....tomorrow could be another matter though!!!

Pay it forward Crafting Style

Oh wow - Joanne has come up with a fab idea!  Pay it forward (meaning send a pack of crafting goodies - or just one item) to someone random - with no thought of getting a reward (other than a warm fuzzy feeling).

OK  Joanne says it so much better than me.....

I thought this would be a wonderful way to spread some crafting love around the world. 'Pay It Forward' works by sending one person a crafting gift, whether it be something you have made or a package of crafting goodies, the recipient then repays this kind gesture by sending a crafting gift or crafting goodies onto someone else and so on, so each time it is being paid forward. There is no time scale to pay your gift forward just when you are ready and able too. Whether this will take off I don't know, maybe it's a mad idea but we wont know unless we give it a try, will we!!

http://payitforwardcraftingstyle.blogspot.com/Gonna go and have a dig in my cupboards now.......

Calendar

I've seen a couple of these around blog land and decided to have a play!  Card was from Kanban.  Image was The Greeting Farm (need to go and buy the others in this series!).  The flower was from Stampin Up (won in a candy - thanks Carol) and I coloured it in.  The buttons were from stash.  Oh and the pegs were from stash.  Also used some mulberry paper behind image, liquid pearls etc etc.

Am entering this in Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential - use a calendar.
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge - New (year)
The Pixie Cottage Challenge - use Buttons!
Flutter by Wednesday Challenge - use an angel, butterfly or fairy
Challenge up Your Life - calendar
Anyone for Anya?  - anything goes - must include Greetings Farm image

Thanks for looking x
