Aud Sentiments....HAPPY!

Hiya on this bright sunny day ....pssst....am preparing this post on Saturday...am so hoping it will be a bright sunny day when it goes live...dont tell anyone!

Over at Aud Sentiments we are being sponsored by AI factory for our challenge to use the word "HAPPY" on our projects.  Paulette, from TLC also gave us another sentiment to use on the challenge - how fabby!  So, I combined the two and came up with this....

I dont usually use orange, but fancied a change!  Here is a closeup on the image from AI Factory.

All the "bits" (frame, flowers, border, leaves) were cut out using my ecraft - and the ribbon was brought home from work by hubby!

Thanks for popping by - you have less than a week to enter the challenge, so if you have been thinking about joining in then now is the time!

Quickie Monster card!

Thought I would have a bit more fun with my ecraft - I keep saying I am going to use it more!  So, I decided I would cut some of the really basic shapes out - so I chose Monsters from Lettering Delights!

"A quick card" me thought!  And it was, until I decided I would print straight onto card - then my laptop wouldnt talk to the printer via the router...after 40 mins of messing about I eventually got them all to work together - I think they had had a row!  I am going to consider a career as a mediator!

So - here was the card!  I know its basic, but I thought it would be a good standby - and I am making some for my local animal sanctuary to sell and this just took scraps and some white card so cost pennies!

For a basic card, with no huffle puffle, I think it came out ok!

Thanks for popping by - comments welcome!

CRAFTY WEEKEND!!!!

Hey all.  Following our crafty weekend last year, you saw one or two posts - most of them saying how much we chatted and how much we laughed!  Oh, and how fabby the goodie bag was!

Its happening again this year - different location - and oh my, you wanna see that place!  In fact....eyes right!  Yep, there it is, at the top of the sidebar!

OK - if you wanna join in the fun and get some crafting done (I am going to try soooo hard to make more and chat less this time!!!) then click on the link and check it out!

We had a seriously good time - and yes, we were all nervous about meeting strangers!  But we all got on with it and let our shared love of crafting (at whichever level we were at) take over.  Come on - how many grumpy crafters do you know???

See you there! Err, yeah, bout that picture - we were trying out modelling clay!!!  My "pendant" looked a bit more like a tongue than a pendant!

Delicious Doodles - Pink to make the Boys Wink!

Over at Delicious Doodles we are getting PINK!!!  Mwah ha ha!  I love PINK!  I thought this would be a cool challenge to show Teri's images dont have to be all dark and mysterious - they can be pink..and mysterious!!!

I thought I would make a tag, for a change...in fact, I suspect this is my first tag that I have made!  I inked the background of the tag (which was cut from a Lettering Delights files on my ecraft) and then used frame, corners and border cut on the ecraft.

Here is a close up of that fabby image!  I love the figure on this gal!

Why not pop over and see what the other girls have done on the DT?  Or better still, why not join in the challenge and make something pink!

Bug Bag!

CUTE!  These were cut with my ecraft and using Lettering Delights files!  They make me smile so wide!  And I especially love that the "tongue" is actually a heart, which you see when you open the box/bag up!  SWEET!

Thanks for popping by today - I am off work today, so am going to get some nifty crafting done while I can!

Aud Sentiments - Anything but a card WITH A SENTIMENT!

I was really looking forward to this challenge...and then faffed around for ages not doing it!  I made spaghetti bolognaise, went on facebook, surfed the web, even resorted to hoovering!  And then I did it!  And I love it!

Everything was cut out with my ecraft (and was a breeze!).  It all just went together so easily!  All of the files are from Lettering Delights.  This is the first time I have completed a whole, layered project with my ecraft and the winning combination (ecraft, MTC, LD) and I am so chuffed!  Yes, there are things I would change, but I am really happy with it as it sits.

I am going to give this to my mum's neighbour.  She came out and cleared a route through the snow so that mum can get down the drive and into our cars.  It was such a lovely thing to do.  I feel so reassured that she has such a lovely neighbour living next door to her.

Anyway, thats me!  I have seen the other DT work and it is stunning!  Please take the time to pop over and check them out - oh...and in case you didnt get it - the challenge is anything but a card but you must include a sentiment!

Owl handwarmer

I got to playing again!  I used one of Josh's old tops - a sleeve - to make this.  I cut out the shape - kinda just guessed at it!  Then sewed it round - boxed the corners (not sure what you call this, but it lets the thing sit squarer - you do it with the bottom of bags.....hellllpppP!).  I filled it with pudding rice and then added the eyes.  I then added some chocolate cooking essence - and it smells GORGEOUS!

Enough talk already - here it is!

Pop it in the microwave for a minute and its toasty warm - how easy?

Thanks for popping by today

Delicious Doodles - All Loved Up

Wow, these challenges come round quickly sometimes!  We are all feeling the LURVE over at Delicious Doodles!  I decided to have a play around with printing on coloured paper and thought these images would go beautifully together.

I meant to do some pricking on the edge of the heart - but then forgot!  DOH!  N'mind, I dont think anyone will notice!

Short and sweet from me today!  Why not pop over the the other girls at Delicious Doodles - or even join in the challenge!

Aud Sentiments - LOVE

Love is in the air - doooo be doooo.  Are you feeling the lurve?  Well, we are all feeling the love over at Aud Sentiments because that's the challenge this time round!

We have been sponsored by Mami Doodles and TLC gave us another fabby free sentiment to use.   The great thing about Aud's is that things are very flexible - so we can choose whether we want to use the sentiment, use the sponsor's image or whatever.  This time I decided to use the Mami Doodles image - well who could resist that cute mouse?

I did my usual dippy thing and forgot to adhere to the rules of the challenge!!!  The challenge is to use the word LOVE - yep, I didn't!  Well, I did eventually, but not to start with...I had to use some more of my fabby plaque thingies that came in my Crafty Weekend goodie bag....the weekend that keeps on giving!

Cuuuutttteee!  Hope you get the chance to join in with the challenge - go on...spread the love!

Engaged!

No, not me silly!  Tony's cousin got engaged over Christmas so I quickly made these two cards....its taken a while for me to get them on the blog!

I cut the ring out with my ecraft and then blinged it to within an inch of its life!  Oooo, notice those little congratulation word thingies....they were in my crafty weekend bag - I THINK they were from Crafty Emma???

The sillhouette was also cut by the ecraft - never let anyone say it can't cut intricate stuff!

And a closeup of the cut.  Considering it has no sticky mat, I am really impressed with it!

Well thats me for today - see you sooooooon

Delicious Doodles - Winter Wonderland

Ooooo I did find this challenge a....ermmm challenge!  Think my mojo ran away on me!  So - for this challenge we would like you to show us a winter birthday card!  We want to see wintery colours on it.  Yep, sounds so easy....so why did I find it so hard?!

The image is called Crofter's cottage and I think its just gorgeous left as plain as possible - so I just added a little blue in the sky and a little green here and there - used chalks for the really soft look.  The frame was cut out using my ecraft.

Please do pop over and look at the other DT work!  Link is on the left hand side of this post!

Blog award - up for grabs!!!!

Hiya all

I have been quite busy lately and really havent had the chance to bloghop as much as I would have liked!  SO, I thought I would invite people to leave me a comment and get the chance for a blog award!  The plan is that you leave your blog on a comment on this post - then I will pop round and leave a lovely comment for you!

Every so often, I will also give out the blog award.  I dont want to say that I will give it to X number of people, or how often for two reasons...first, there might be no comments on the post!  Second, I might want to award it to more than one person.  Third (yes, I know I only said two!) I might not remember to do it when I say I will so dont want to fib!

So - here is the award!

If you want me to pop over and visit - and possibly win the blog award - then just leave me a comment below!

Archers beware!

My hubby does archery - yep, kinda unusual hobby I thought.  However, the more people I talk to, the more people seem to do it!  Strange!

Its hubby's birthday so I made him two nice simple cards - here they are:

The first one is actually images of archery equipment - who knew???

Aud Sentiments - Use your scraps!

Our challenge over at Aud Sentiments is to use up your scraps!  I dont know about you, but I save lots of scraps!  I keep them all colour-coded in two accordian files - and I ALWAYS go to them first.  The only thing with doing that, is I dont get to use all the yummy new papers I have!

So of course, when it came to using my scraps for this challenge it was easy....so I thought I would limit myself a bit more and insist on using a piece of scrap from the last card I made, which was on my table at the time.  You saw that card last week - the Delicious Doodles one - feel free to scroll down!

I also threw in a doily - never really know what to do with them!  And I pinched my mate Shell's idea of bunting - now that would use up even the tiniest scraps!

How cute is that image????  I printed it quite small so it was a bit hard on the eyes to colour - but I did enjoy doing it and love how it looks - just so dainty.  I think I might send it to a friend of mine for her daughter who is doing ballet.

We have another gorgeous sentiment from Paulette of TLC. Remember if you use this sentiment for the challenge be sure to enter your name twice for the prize drawing.  I didnt use the sentiment this time - we have the option but I had already made my card - however, it would be perfect for a friend of mine, so I suspect I will be using it at sometime soon!

For this challenge we are so excited to have Floppy Latte as our sponsor. They are giving the winner a $15 GC. Thanks so much!

Here is a little bit about Stitchy Bear which is one of the companies that have their stamps at Floppy Latte...
"Hi my name is Stitchy and I am Co-Owner of Stitchy Bear Stamps...we started this store April 1st, No Fooling haha..I live in upstate New York with my husband and two TEENAGE adults haha, I do say that loosely as they think they run the show here, NOT...
I been creating stamps for a little less than a year now and I am totally addicted to the craft..I started about 4 years ago making digital scraps and I knew there was much more out there, so a friend of mine introduced me to digital stamps...and the rest they say is history...I look forward to seeing all the beautiful creations come through...good luck everyone..stitchy xoxox"

Oh - and some fabby news - we have two new DT members - please pop over and spread the love if you get a chance!

Thanks for popping by today!  I have been very busy in real world lately and havent been visiting much recently - but I am missing everyone soooo much that I am gonna be making the rounds soon!

Delicious Doodles - Something NEW!

I am normally quite adequate at crafty things - I can cobble something together and have it look halfways ok anyway.  I have done all sorts of crafts and love finding new things to do.  However, there is one thing I have never really got to grips with.....crochet!

About a year ago we had the craze for crochet flowers on cards....I can do that I thought....yeah, right, I couldnt!  Years ago, I crocheted a dog blanket, but never mastered granny squares - just straight forward crochet.

I saw this challenge and decided I would challenge myself to crochet a flower for it....I spent 3 evenings learning how to do it....I spent two of those evenings just doing straight crochet (so I could get the feel for how to hold the yarn and move the hook) and then I made a flower!  No mess, no fuss - just did it!  And it is here on this card!  Yes, it is tiny!

To keep going with the same theme, I picked Teri's new image too - I just loved it as soon as I saw it, but just couldnt do the gothic thing to it so I went pink and purple - YAY!

A little close up of her!

Thanks for popping by today!

Quick rustle up!

Isnt there always someone you forget????  We had a visit over from some new neighbours yesterday, and they brought a box of chocolates -eeeeek!  So - a quick rustle up this morning and we have a little something for their children.  Phew!

The test-tubes are plastic ones from ebay and they are filled with mini smarties (which are now natural colours, so no bright reds!).  They were hanging from our tree as decorations!  Hey, ho - still have another 8 of them!

I cut the template with my ecraft (of course) and the gems and ribbon are from my "Crafty Weekend" goody bag!

AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Storage Jar snowflaked!

My husband took Joshua gift shopping the other day.  Josh picked up a jar of Liquorish Allsorts for Nanny, but they were £12!  Josh has a budget of £5 each present, so this was waaaay out of his pocket.  So, they carried on and then Tony spotted some acrylic storage jars.  He bought two packs of Allsorts and the jar with the idea that I would "do something" to them.  Of course, out comes the ecraft!

So - here is the first picture of the plain storage jar - looook, you can see my laptop!

Here is the jar with snowflakes!  Cut from vinyl, using Lettering Delights snowflakes via Make the Cut and cut on the Ecraft!

This is the lid - its actually a big pain in the butt to get the pictures!

And here is the final thing, complete with Allsorts! I think she will really love it as she can peel the snowflakes off when Christmas is over and use it as a plain jar.

Thanks for popping by today - I know people are really busy and probably have little time to blog hop!

Comment on the entries (we have a system so you are not required to comment on all of them)
Vote on the winners
Be active in our Yahoo group
That's It!

I chose to use another TLC sentiment.  I have to confess, I was really late getting this done and thats when the TLC sentiments come into their own - they just ARE the card!  Nice and easy!

I cut the notes and treble clef using my ecraft and then used paper candy as embellishments.  Couldnt be easier - yes, its not the best looking card, but its kinda ok!

Thanks for popping by today and make sure you hop on over to Auds

Delicious Doodles - Christmas Embellishments

OOOO  - a nightmare challenge for me this one!  I am not good at all at sticking "things" on!  Hey ho, I had a go -and isnt that the main thing about challenges...accepting the challenge!

Ok thats it folks!  I need to go and lie down in a dark room now!

Go on, treat yourselves, go and see the "proper stuff" over at Delicious Doodles!!!

Little Christmas Wreath

I keep seeing this sort of thing around and thought I would have a go.  Not overpleased with it - but dont hate it!

I made the paper rosettes. The flowers, little gold berries and white snowflakey stuff (love the technical term?) are all from my crafty weekend goody bag!

The wreath is only about 6 inches wide, so its not big.  Small enough for our fireplace x

I think its a little plain - anyone got any good suggestions?  Do I add some more rosettes in the gaps (perhaps in a lighter colour?)?

Have just added a middle bit in....better/worse?

Thanks for popping by!

Aud Sentiments - Christmas

Hiya all

Thats it - I have officially caught the Christmas Spirit!  YAY! I had to wait until the Christmas Tree went up - but the second it did...ping!

Our challenge over at Aud Sentiments is to use a winter holiday sentiment.  So that would include Christmas, Hannukah....erm, yeah....and.......erm, anything else you can think of!!!!

For this challenge we are so excited to have Prairie Fairy as our sponsor. They are giving the winner a $15 Gift Certificate to their store. They gave us some digis to play with - I am going to be using one later on, but for the actual challenge I have gone with the free sentiment from Paulette of TLC She is giving a prize away to one lucky randomly chosen winner.

Here is the sentiment.....
and, here is my project!  I have to say it was nice and quick - and easy!  But it looks really great on the shelf where we usually put the tissues - such a change to have a decorated box.

And a close up of the sentiment....

And thats me done for today - gotta rush off now, but I look forward to seeing all your entries!

Felting Fun!

You know when you have a fancy to do something?  How much better is it when you actually have the stuff you need waiting around at home - instant gratification!

Here is what I wanted to do....needle felting figures.  Yeah, I know, it could have been waaaay more exciting, but thats just me!

This is Fred the penguin!  There is no sewing on this - its all just needle felted together - lots of fun and quick results too!

This is Bob - the alien!  Ha ha ha - he makes me smile!  Love the wonky eye!

And this is Fred the penguin, fresh from the shower with his towel wrapped round him!  Yeah, ok, its no different to the first one - but I am sure he has a definite funny look on his face in this photo!!!
