Organisor - diddy!

You must have seen those tiny coin envelopes, right?  Well, I was going to make a little brag book or something out of them and then I decided on a teeny organisor - kind of a to-do list!

My friend at work, is also branching out into wedding organising and has asked me to help out with a couple of things - so I thought this might be something really nice to give to the bride-to-be so that she can keep pertinent details in it from her wedding - dress fittings, colour swatches etc etc.  She could then store it with her wedding album etc as a memory of the run-up to a wedding!

I didnt get very good pics of it - but the stamp is from Stampin Up and I embossed it in gold.  It doesnt show up very well, but it does shine nicely!  I then laminated the front and back covers, to make them durable!

I then just used the Stampin Up scallop punch on the inserts

Thought the whole thing could be matched to the bride's wedding colours.  But for now, its mine, all mine!

thanks for popping by - hope you are having a fabby bank holiday!

Aud Sentiments - Sentiment for a man

Well, we had lots of fun with this one in our house!  We were very lucky to pick an image from Digis with Attitude and I picked this lion!  He just made me chuckle!  We then sat round trying to think up sentiments for him (that were suitable for a man!).

I had 3 sheets of this old Stampin Up paper (just little sheets) and wanted to use the same paper and layout for all the cards.  The image on the one above is "Happy Father's Day to the MANE man"...believe me, they get worse!

This one says "Someone just tickled me behind my ears, and I'm still meant to wish you Happy Birthday??"

and this one says "King of the Jungle and they want to call me Tiddles!  Happy Birthday anyway....errr roar!"

...and then I ran out of paper - only had those 3 sheets to start with - so I just used the offcuts for this final card - think this sentiment was the most cringy..."No, no, no.  I said I wanted a lie-in for my Birthday!"

Yes, they are all corny - but we had a giggle sitting around making them up!

Thanks for popping by today - I really look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Josh's other birthday cards!

Well, I showed Josh's card with the Kenny K image on...so here are another couple I had to make him....

the first was from my mum - I used a Dustin Pike image for this one - had it in mind to use for a while!

I then remembered this image from Bugaboo and thought I had to use that one too! - I didnt have another person to make the card from - so I made it from....Pickles and Popcorn (the cats), Gramarian and Yoda (the guinea pigs), Gwim Weaper (the lizard - say it out loud, it works better!), Da Beast (really cute and fluffy hamster), Cat Treat (a rescued hamster), Mina (rescue bunny) and Pleco and pals (fish).

I really enjoyed colouring in both of these images - they took a bit of doing, but they were great fun!

Couple of Kenny K cards!

I love that I can use Kenny K for my "men's cards".  Talk about the two extremes today....I made one for a 60 year old and one for an 11 year old (my son!), both using the same image.

Quite funny really - neither of them would be able to have her (if she were real!) - one too old and one waaaaay too young (my baby dont forget!).

Delicious Doodles - Let the sun shine!

When Teri did this image I really loved it! - and I love it even more now it is coloured!

The wooden frame is a separate image - so I just shoved the two together so I did some incredibly difficult combining in inkscape and ended up with the pic in a frame!

I then got to thinking how like a picture on a wall it looked - so thats what I did with it!  Well, in card form!  Talk about make do and mend...my son had bought a toy dart gun and the "string" came from that - knew it would come in handy!!!

Oh - and sorry this post was late up today - I usually either schedule them or put them up in the morning before work - but Josh had a Tudor day today and he was the jester ... typecast!  Obviously, this meant a bit of faffing - spraying hair red, facepaints etc.....

Oooo - forgot to say that our theme over at Delicious Doodles is "Let the sun shine", so anything summery!

Thanks for popping by today!

Get Well Soon

I used this image a few weeks ago for an Aud Sentiments Challenge, so when a friend asked me to do a get well card for a male friend of hers I knew exactly which image to reach for....

I did lots of faux stitching on the card, although this doesnt show up in the photo very well.  Also, in case you cant read it...the sentiment says...."Heard you'd damaged your achilles - thought she could help with your limp..."...yes, its cheeky, but you should have heard some of the other options we came up with!

Aud Sentiments - NO sentiment

Well, I waited and waited - but it didnt arrive - the post I was missing of course (there is another one missing too, but this was most important).  Aud Sentiments Challenge this fortnight is to produce something with NO Sentiment.  This was a reasonably easy for me - its actually harder for me to put a sentiment onto things!

We got to pick whatever we wanted from Digi Chick they do a great mix of things including templates...so this is what I picked!

The Stamps are from Stampin Up - and, of course, I had to "stage" the photo with the addition of sweeties.  Which were swiftly dealt with as soon as the photo was taken!  I now have a very pretty, but very empty, sweetie dispenser!

Thanks for popping by today - I hope to get to see some of your entries over at Aud's Sentiments

I thought it was all meant to be restored....

Funny how people see you differently isnt it?  Most people say I am really patient and tolerate alot of messing about....my family and I know that I am most definitely NOT....but I was doing so well the last few days with Blogger.

I read the information about the system rollback and thought it wasnt a big deal at all - well, not for me personally (might have thought differently if I had some sort of commercial need!).  I am very much in the "oh well, these things happen" brigade.

I saw people's concerns and, in some cases, panic.  I stayed calm and patient....they say they are going to restore all the deleted posts, so no need to worry!  Then, this morning, I read that they had restored all deleted posts and it was business as usual....what???  The only sites they said would take longer were those with heavy content (mine is most certainly not one of those sites!lol).

I am still being patient...although now I am having to work at it!

I really appreciate Blogger - it's free, it works great (most of the time!) and I get on well with it.  I STILL really appreciate Blogger - these things happen.  I am going to hang on a couple more days to see if the posts I had up will suddenly reappear...if not, I will redo them - and I will still love Blogger (just perhaps not quite as much!).

Just thought I would post this up quickly in case you were wondering why I hadnt posted anything new recently!

Thanks for popping over and I hope your blogs all restored ok!

40th Card on my ecraft

This was a real last second make!  I was going away and suddenly remembered a birthday while I was away, so set to quickly make a card.

I used the ecraft to cut out the numbers, bit of glitter, some scalloped paper and bling.  It was quick, but sufficient!

Thanks for looking

Another sympathy card

My colleague at work lost a very close friend last week.  I didnt want to do her a "normal" sympathy card as I didnt know the lady who died and didnt want to appear insincere - so I did her this card.  Used Stampin Up (still playing!) and really like how it came out - these are so quick to put together!

The sentiment says "If nothing ever changed there would be no butterflies".  Hope she likes it.

Delicious Doodles meets Kenny K!

How good does life get???  Two faves of mine....Kenny K is sponsoring Delicious Doodles' Challenge this week!  And the challenge is to make a card for a teen.  Kenny K's images are just perfect for teens (and men, men, men!).

While I was away, I got the chance to meet up with Samantha from Penrith Crafts - great gal and we got on so great, chatted like we'd been friends for years!  Samantha has lots of cute beasties too - we nearly came home with 3 chickens and a rabbit...but then I imagined hubby's face and managed to show some restraint!

Samantha gave me a beautiful Easter card - how sweet was that...so I decided to CASE the card, the result of which is above!  YAY!  Thanks Samantha!  AND, while I was at Penrith Crafts I found the little paper candy thingies that are on the card....oooooo I am loving these!  They are really good value too!

Enough of the waffle already!  Please take the time to pop over and see what the other girls have done for the challenge - link is in the sidebar!

Mini Milk Cartons

I am on holiday this week - look out Penrith Crafts!!!!  I am going with my son and mum, and my big brother will be up there for the first part of the week, with my best mate coming up for the second part of the week with her two children.  As its so close to Easter, I thought I would make a little milk carton for her two kids and Josh and then fill it with different sweets each day!  They are only up for three days so not too many sweets...and the milk cartons are tiny - about 5cm tall!

Notice the different colour clips for each child....gotta keep an eye that they dont get swapped...might mark the bottom of the boxes too!

Delicious Doodles - All Stitched Up

The minute I saw this image I just had to use it!  I love horses - used to have some of my own...beautiful!  And after a terrible fall, Josh has just got back in the saddle!  I am so proud of him....he took a while, but he has now started riding again.  Some people might remember that the horse he was riding got spooked by a pheasant, he ended up out the side door (no one would have stayed on as the horse jumped 3 ft sideways!) - he got his foot stuck in the stirrup and was dragged face down.  He ended up with two broken toes, a broken bone in his foot and lots of scrapes and bruises.  It was a miracle he wasnt seriously injured!  Wow - that was a bit of a diversion from the card!

This is for our "All stitched up" challenge over at Delicious Doodles.  I decided to do faux stitching - nice and quick and easy!

You can't really see the stitching too well on the first photo - so here it is again, a bit closer!

And a close up on that image!  I just thrill when I see this - its so beautiful and majestic!

Thanks for taking the time to visit today - please pop over to see my teamies' stuff!  And why not join in too!

Aud Sentiments DT CALL, Challenge and ....BLOG HOP!!!

Oh Wow - you are gonna love this one!  It's our one year anniversary over at Aud Sentiments - I find that just so incredible!  I personally have grown and developed my crafting in this time and its also been great to visit other people's blogs and see how much their crafting styles have changed!  The team have been a blast to work with and Audrey is just a superstar...I have no idea how she keeps us all organised!

OK - so...first up, we have our challenge and DT call.  Yep - 2 in 1 for you!  The theme is....ANYTHING GOES!  How cool is that?  Everyone gets the chance to do what they do best!  We are sponsored by Sassy Cheryl.  I have never used these images before and I have to say they are CUTE!  So, here is my card for the challenge....

It was truely a beauty to colour in!  Please take a chance and have a go at the DT tryouts - its a great team to be on and really easy on the committments....
1. Create a project every other week
2. Comment on entries
3. Vote for winners
4. Be active in our Yahoo group
And we have great sponsors too!

Now - the BLOG HOP!!!!

Each of the DT picked one of their fave sponsors of the last year....and I picked Kenny K

I love the sassy images, they are really new and fresh - the teens are cute but not cutsie - good smattering of attitude and character going on - there are some really funny beasties and oh boy - the sexy ones are just wild!  I have lots of the teens and sexy ones, so thought I would go for something completely different for my project - meet.....SUPER GENIUS!

I kept the layout as simple as possible for a couple of reasons - firstly, I wanted to show off the image (I do feel that too many embellishments sometimes end up detracting from the image - or is that just me, not sussing out how to use them to enhance rather than detract???) - and secondly, the taller of the two is actually a notebook and I wanted it to be functional and not have bits getting in the way or dropping off!  Inside, there are humorous geeky type quotes!

Onto the order of the hop.....I am the first one you hit after you leave the challenge blog.....so excited!  After me,  you want to be heading off to my teamie Julie's Crafty Spot.

Make sure you leave a comment on each blog - there is a really good reason for this (other than completing the whole blog hop!!!) and its because each of us have fabby prizes from our sponsors!  So - I have 5 images of your choice from Kenny K for one lucky commenter!!!! How generous is that?  Now, if I were you, I would pop on over there and drool at the images right after you have finished this hop (then, if you are lucky and your name comes up, you will know exactly which ones you want!!!).  Ooooo and also - they have a freebie over there, just waiting for you to grab!

Really, what more could you want?  More prizes? ---- well hop on over to Julie and see what she has got - just know you are going to love it!  Oooooo hang on - dont forget to leave me a comment!!!

Hop Hop Hop!!!!

Two quick cards

One happy and one sad!

The first is for a friend at work who surprised everyone with her birthday!  First thing we knew was when her daughter posted a "happy birthday" to her mum on FB - luckily, no one from work (or very few) know about my blog so I can post this up here!

And the second is for a friend at work who lost her dad.  I am not great at these sort of cards...have to say Stampin Up kinda came to my rescue!  I had just bought the new flourish etc so took the opportunity to use it!

Thanks for taking the time to look

Just thought I would post it up so people could have a giggle!

Hope you have had a fabby weekend....I sat in the garden (colouring some images and then reading books!) - my nose is very red!

Delicious Doodles - Chocs and a bookmark!

I was so excited to see this challenge....use ribbons!  Hmmmmm, I thought it would challenge me a bit as I dont really use them very often (and only in a very basic way!).  And then my mojo ran away off down the pub!  Nightmare - as you know, its hard enough to get yourself to do basic stuff, let alone try and do something challenging!

We are sponsored this week by Crafty Ribbons - and they very kindly gave us a selection to play with - really lovely designs.  So, thinks me, nice and easy does it, dont scare the mojo, it might just be slinking back to me (from the pub, remember?)....well, the ribbon dragged back the mojo....but it had a filthy hangover!  Hmmmmm - I ended up just doing a bookmark!  BUT it really shows off the ribbon well!

Ooooooo - look at these little gold bars!........

Ahhhhh - they are Josh's chocs for his class pressies.  He breaks up for Easter hols tomorrow.  Used Delicious Doodles image and just a bit of jiggery pokery in inkscape, to produce the wrapper - already coloured of course.  It only took about 30 mins to put them together, including all the cutting, unwrapping and rewrapping - of course, took me longer to play with inkscape lol.

Oooo - nearly forgot....little bit about  Crafty Ribbons

We are an online ribbon emporium, a treasure trove of lush drop dead gorgeous ribbons - and a few buttons! Crafty Ribbons has a ribbon for every occassion, colour and width. If you need a little inspiration to use your ribbons and buttons then check out our blog where we offer a Friday FREEBIE, a chance to win some luscious ribbon every week and a project every wednesday.

Thanks for looking - please pop on over to see the ways the others have used their ribbons!  If you win the challenge then you also win a great bag of ribbons too!
