Aud Sentiments - FUNNY!

This week over at Aud Sentiments, our challenge is to use a Bugaboo image to create a funny card!  Well, with Bugaboo images thats a really easy challenge!   Bugaboo images make me laugh out loud sometimes - and this card was no exception!  

I made this one for my husband's boss who is a golf fanatic!  I did wonder about giving him a card so "close to the knuckle" but was assured it was ok!  Hubby still has a job so I guess it was!

Nanny's Birthday Card

Whoops!  I forgot to post this card up!  Nanny's birthday (Josh's Nanny that is) was a while ago now - but hey ho, here it is!

Josh picked the image from my tiny, tiny selection (errrrm, just in case Hubby sees this post....its really really tiny!!!) - it's from Meljens.  He then decided on the sentiment too - bless!

I coloured this one with promarkers - from my PCCD...thats Pre-Copics Colouring Days!  Ha ha!  The frame and the flowers were cut using my ecraft machine - really quick and easy to do!

Ok - my work here is done!!!  Thanks for popping by - I will  be a bit quiet in the coming week (well on here I will be, not in real life!!!) as Josh and I are going on a riding holiday!  Whoooop Whooop!

Copic Fairy!

Yes, I succumbed!  I had a play with Sarah's copics during our time away and ended up buying a set! 

This is my first fully coloured with copics card!  Yay - its awfully good fun!  Copics v Promarkers is really down to personal preference - I truely don't believe one is waaaaay ahead of the other - I just feel that the copics suit me at the moment!   

In our goody bags, we had a whole mass of flowers!  Loads and loads - from Mulberry Crafts  - I am not good with flowers (to say the least!), but the girls told me how to attach them and make them stay attached (silicone glue - which we also had in our bags!).  Shell also gave me the fabby tip of twiddling the wires - gotta love those technical terms!  It definitely adds a little something!

So - thats me done for today - am gonna go and link up some challenges I think!

Crafty Weekend

Oh how we laughed!!!  That has to be the first thing I type!  I cant believe how well the various girlies bonded - no cross words, no short tempers - and thats 11 women in one house!  Some were loud, some were quiet - some drank lots (you know who you are N!!), some didnt (although there was an awful lot of tea consumed Shell!). 

I had an absolute blast.  

We had huuuuuge goodie bags - will get on here and thank the companies in the next couple of days.  

Amy and, her mum, Chris were incredible hosts.  They greeted me when I popped my head round the door after lunch on Friday, Chris cooked dinner on Friday evening - yummy and no mean feat for 11 people, I couldnt have done it!  They just made the weekend run so fabulously, without getting bossy!  

I bunked in with Shell - we spent two hours the first night chatting in bed!  Top girl - lots of giggles!  Mind you, we got a bit freaked when we found out that we share the same birthday and got married on the same date!  oooooo!   

Ok - I am not going to chat about everyone now!  I could be here all night!  I just came on to quickly show my weekend makes....which, I have to fess up, where not as prolific as most of the other girl's.  I blame it on the sore tummy muscles - they suddenly developed gigglyitis (when you laugh so much it hurts) and I think it affected my ability to craft!!!  Yeah right!

This card is so unlike me!!!  The stamp was from Crafts and Me.  How gorgeous is it?  We got given 6 stamps in total (I think - am still in shock!).  I really need to unpack my bag properly!  

I coloured the image with aquamarkers.  Now, I have a set of these at home already, but hadnt really used them much.  I saw the set Letraset had sent us to play with on the table and thought I really SHOULD get to playing with them.  What have I been missing?  I loved them so much - I am definitely going to be doing more with them.  I used them by scribbling on my glass mat and used a watercolour brush (the ones with a reservoir built into the brush) to pick up the colour. OK, its not the best ever, but I was quite chuffed for my first go! 

Amy showed me a new technique - using dreamcaster brushes - to do the edge of the card - now this is gonna be a staple for me from now on!

Bookmarks!!!!  I played around with beading etc years and years ago - but didnt really put any great effort into it.  Some of us had chosen to do some jewellery making and Amy and Sarah (Tiggertastic) showed us some great techniques.  I made the bookmarks first and will definitely be making more of these for Christmas pressies etc.  In fact, if you know me, you are likely to end up with one of these at some point!  They are just so sweeeeeet!

And this is the bracelet I made - yes, really, I made THIS!  It hurt the fingers a bit to do - and I seemed to take 3 times as long to make it as the other ladies!  BUT I DID IT!  Aint no one having this baby!

I mean....LOOOOOK!  I cant believe I did it!

In our bags, also (besides heaps of paper, card, embellishments, sparkly things, ribbons.....sooooooo much stuff - did I mention that?)  was some Sculpty stuff.  I am sure I am not the only person to have a lickle pack of fimo lurking at the back of a cupboard - bought it for Josh and he never used it!  Well, there was lots of it in our bags!

The blue and white "pendant" was what I formed from a blob Amy was playing with...then I made another one from the leftovers from the beads.   And the fried eggs?  Hey, I had fun ok! 

This is my little piggy.  Ok, you probably could have worked that one out for yourself!  Amy and Chris used to make these little piggies and showed me how to do one.  Well, actually, their ones looked far more refined than mine - my one is a flying pig!  Not on purpose, but look at the size of those ears!  The metal bit sticking up the middle is so that I can put it on a phone dongle!  Mind you, I nearly didnt manage to impale him with it because Shell kept making "piggy screaming" noises and making me feel awful! 

This was my bear - again, stating the obvious (at least I hope so!).  

It was such a wonderful weekend, with a lovely talented group of ladies!  I learnt lots of new stuff and got to play with materials and STUFF that I had not experienced before.  

Ok -thats me done for tonight - gonna go and have a play!

Delicious Doodles - Halloween, but no orange!

I loved this challenge.  I have been playing around with inks and things, so this was the perfect opportunity to have a go at some inky backgrounds.  I sprayed over with shimmer mist when I had done the background, you cant see it very well, hence me explaining it!

I then had a go at watercolouring using the same inks I had used for the background - lots of fun!  Note to self: use watercolour paper next time! 

The swirls were cut on my ecraft - from the fundamentals card - and then sprayed with shimmer.

So - in case you didnt notice the post heading - our challenge over at Delicious Doodles (link in the side bar) is to make a Halloween card without using the colour orange!  Cool!

Cherish!

I have my mother-in-law's birthday coming up soon - so made this little card for her.  She loves her garden and so it works on that level.  It also works on another level - because she cherishes us too!

Few little details - the background papers were both stamped with Stampin Up stamps. The flourish was cut out using my ecraft (had it in my "bits box" already cut and ready to go!) - oh and the image is Mo Manning!  It was, I think, in a fundraising set.  I just love fundraising sets and always try to buy them when I can.

Aud Sentiments Glitterbabes

Its been a little quiet over here - sorry, life is a bit busy at the moment!  This time our challenge over at Aud Sentiments is a nice easy one - its to use the phrase "Happy Birthday" somewhere on your card!  Ok, when I say its a nice easy one, I nearly failed!  I forgot to use the phrase, so had to shove it inside quick!

OK, the challenge this time is "A Get Well Card" 

As some of you many know, I am doing an RE course, so have had to reduce my crafting time a bit - but I did manage to "knock" this out!

I just really like the simplicity of this image - and it came in a set with other buggies in - so useful!

Wedding Wishes!

My friend Ella "does" weddings!  The latest craze is to have a tree and get guests to write little notes and tie them onto the tree!  The little notes are then taken off, boxed off and act as the bride and groom's guest book. 

Ella asked me to make some of the little tags for the tree, so I thought I would post them up here!  I had to make 150 of the plain "Wedding Wishes" hearts and a little box to go with them and then she asked me to do a few more samples for her.  Seriously, you could go for days making these things!

Phew!  If I can get a little confidence doing these, then I am going to look at making some invites etc!

Delicious Doodles - Fresh Start!

Ooooo - its been lovely having the summer off!  Teri is fabby and never puts any pressure on us to keep up with the challenges, but it has been nice to not have any to do over the summer... until about a week ago, then I got jittery because I didnt have a challenge to ... errrr...challenge me!

To celebrate our return, the first challenge is "Fresh Start" - we want to see you using new stuff!  

I am not heavily into all the darkness and gothic stuff, but there are some of Teri's "dark" images that I just love as soon as I see them - and this was one of them.....

Not only is the image new to me, but I am still really new at the dark and gothic look!  I have to say, its quite difficult to see the card properly in the pic below - not sure how I managed to take quite such a bad picture!
